Skylanders is a gaming franchise that has spawned a lot of fans. The game’s made for young people or adults who are young at heart. Basically, this game is a toy-to-life video game that portrays toy figurines as if they were alive.
The game underwent many iterations starting from the Skylanders: Spyro’s adventure up to the Skylanders: Giants.
In today’s article, we are going to talk about the Skylanders Superchargers Game for the Nintendo Wii U. This is the newest game in the franchise, but unlike the previous installments, this game is more of a racing game as opposed to the conventional adventure game element.
The game revolves around the Skylanders and Kaos (who is the main antagonist even on the previous games). The Skylanders in this game is called the “Superchargers” because they now ride a specialized vehicle that has an attunement on each of the characters.
Anyway, Kaos got a hold of the Dark Rift engine; a powerful engine that has immeasurable powers. Kaos also got a new ally in the form of the “Darkness”. Together, both of them reside in the Sky Eater Islands.
The Superchargers along with key characters, Flynn, Cali, and Glumshanks, head on to the Sky Eater Isles and confronted both Kaos and the Darkness. After a much-heated battle, the Superchargers were able to defeat Kaos but the Darkness froze everyone except Kaos.
The Darkness told Kaos to defeat all of the Superchargers while they’re still frozen, but Kaos wants none of this because he doesn’t want to be told what to do. Kaos then used the Dark Rift Engine to propel him and all the Superchargers away from the Sky Eater Isles, leaving the Darkness helpless and unable to do anything.
Skylanders Superchargers Game for the Nintendo Wii U still has the same gameplay mechanics as that of its predecessors with one key difference: the Skylanders are now called Superchargers and they have their own vehicle.
The Portal of Power, a centerpiece of the game, also got a little bigger to accommodate the vehicles.
Vehicles are one of the biggest additions to the game. According to Activision, most of the missions will be done riding vehicles. There are three types of vehicles you can use depending on the map: one for air, land, and water.
In missions where you will use the ground vehicles, you are presented with a race track-like map where you navigate the vehicles in order to complete the objectives. The same goes for water vehicles, but instead of hovering through the land, you are subjected underwater where the missions will be a little bit challenging.
Lastly, there are some missions where you will use air vehicles as well. Unlike all other types of vehicles, though, air vehicles have an autopilot system where the players can fly their vehicles without them having to touch the controls.
The game supports two players at once; a player will drive the vehicles while the other uses the weapons to eliminate enemies.
The Skylanders Superchargers Game for the Nintendo Wii U is another iteration of the popular franchise and is really one of the most enjoyable games for the platform.
